Leh gears up for "Climate Cup 2024" football tournament

CEC, LAHDC,Leh, Tashi Gyalson, convened a meeting on June 27 to outline plans for the upcoming "Climate Cup 2024" football tournament, scheduled for the first week of September in Leh.

The primary objective of this initiative is to host an environmentally conscious and sustainable event that raises awareness about climate change. The forthcoming "Climate Cup 2024" aims to not only celebrate sporting excellence but also champion environmental consciousness on a global scale.

CEC Tashi Gyalson engaged in detailed discussions with key officials regarding the essential arrangements required for the tournament. Emphasizing the tournament's pivotal role in promoting environmental stewardship, he highlighted the significance of sending a global message on climate impact. The objective is to ensure that the tournament sets a precedent as a minimal waste football event. The tournament will feature teams from Ladakh alongside national clubs.

The meeting was attended by Dy.
