Government Model Degree College Zanskar celebrated National Sports Day with great zeal and enthusiasm on August 29.

Commemorating the birth anniversary of the legendary sportsman Major Dhyan Chand, the event was a resounding success, showcasing the college's commitment to holistic education.

The celebration started with an inspiring talk by Mustafa Ali, College Director of Physical Education and Sports wherein he mentioned the importance of sports in the life of students.

Dr Jamphel Sheyan also delivered a talk on the topic “Game and Sports: Marking the Difference” and shared some interesting insights on the Archery game of Ladakh.

Dr Abid Ali also gave a talk on this occasion wherein he mentioned various schemes launched by Govt. of India to improve the Sports infrastructure in India. On the occasion, a Table Tennis tournament was also organized for the students. 

National Sports Day celebration was a true reflection of its dedication to promoting physical fitness and character building.

The college looks forward to continuing its efforts in nurturing a generation of students who are not only academically competent but also physically active and socially responsible.
