The District Police Kargil under Civic Action Programme of J&K Police organised a District Level Taekwondo Championship on 2nd March, 2014 at Indoor Stadium here. The Taekwondo Championship was inaugurated by Sr. Superintendent of Police Kargil, Sujit Kumar, who was also Chief Guest on the occasion. 

More than 90 Taekwondo players including 40 boys and 50 girls from various parts of Kargil participated in the Championship.
 
Sujit Kumar, SSP said that the J&K Police is organizing such a programme to explore the hidden talent of the youths by taking initiative under Civic Action Programme as the youths of Kargil has tremendous talent in every field of sports. He further said that there is a need to bring more progress in this game.

He stressed upon the youths to take part in games, so that they can bring laurel to District, State and Country by participating in National and International level.
Addl. SP Kargil, Shri. Mohmad Yonous Bhat, Various District Officer, Police Officers and large number of people was also present on the occasion.
