Chief Secretary of the Union Territory of Ladakh, Ashish Kundra, on May 7 attended DPS Sporathon, a grand celebration of sportsmanship, teamwork, and youthful enthusiasm organised by Delhi Public School (DPS), Leh.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from Delhi Public School, Leh, along with students from various schools across Leh, including Moravian Mission School, Islamia Public High School, Imamia Model High School, BVN School, KV School, and Siddhartha Public School, creating an atmosphere of excitement, healthy competition, and team spirit.

Students showcased exceptional talent, discipline, and determination through thrilling matches and energetic performances, making the event a memorable sporting extravaganza. The grounds of DPS Leh resonated with cheers, unity, and the true spirit of sportsmanship as young athletes participated with great zeal and enthusiasm.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Secretary Ashish Kundra motivated and inspired the students with his encouraging words. He emphasized the importance of balancing academics with sports and highlighted how discipline, teamwork, perseverance, and dedication learned through sports play a vital role in shaping confident and successful individuals.

He also appreciated the efforts of Principal Sonal Mediratta and the school management in organising such a grand platform to nurture talent, leadership, and holistic development among students.

The event was also attended by Tashi Tsering, DSO Leh; Tsering Angmo, Founder and General Secretary of the Ladakh Football Association; and Tsewang Chuskit, Captain of the National Women’s Ice Hockey Team.

Speaking on the occasion, Principal Sonal Mediratta expressed gratitude to the Chief Guest and distinguished dignitaries for visiting DPS Leh and sharing their valuable and motivating words with the students.

She stated that DPS Sporathon is not merely a sporting event but also a platform to instil confidence, leadership, unity, discipline, and the spirit of healthy competition among young minds.
