Department of Physical Education and Sports, Govt. Degree College Drass kick-started a three-day intramural tournament in various sports activities on September 11.

Dr Amjad Ali Abbasi, Principal GDC Drass inaugurated the event and briefed the players about the scope and importance of sports and emphasized the significance of physical exercise to the human body for keeping oneself fit and healthy.

He advised the players to enjoy the games and maintain the spirit of the game as well. He also lauded the Director Physical Education and Sports, Mohd Yassin, for organizing the tournament.

The event started with a men's Volleyball match between Tololing House and Tiger Hill House, in which Tiger Hill House emerged as a winner, and the second match was played between two women's teams; Batra Top and Zojila Top. Team Zojila Top won the match with a margin of 08 points.

In the afternoon session, Table Tennis matches were held. The first match was played between Mohammad Ashraf of 3rd semester and Mubasir Hussain of 1st semester. The former player won the match by defeating the latter by 2-1. The second match was played between Naseem Ahmad of the 3rd semester and Mudasir Hussain of the 5th semester in which Naseem defeated his rival with a close margin.

The first women's table tennis match was played between Farhat Anjum of the 3rd semester and Archo Kubra of the 5th semester, which was won by Farhat Anjum. 

Assistant Professor of Zoology Mohd Ali was the match referee in volleyball matches.
