15th Col. Chhewang Rinchen memorial cricket tournament held in Sumoor, Nubra Tigger sporting club win the match by 8 wickets

Tigger sporting club won 15th Col. Chhewang Rinchen memorial, T20 Cricket Tournament 2016 by 8 wickets. The final match was played between Tigger Sporting club vs Samstan Otsal Tsogspa, Sumoor at Col. Chhewang Rinchen Stadium, Sumoor Nubra on 17 January.
The tournament was organized by Samstan Otsal Tsogspa Sumoor and co-sponsored by Dr Phunchok Angmo, daughter of Late Col. Chhewang Rinchen. A total 11 teams participated in the tournament.
Rigzin Lundup Councillor, Tigger Constituency was the Chief Guest and Tsering Angchok, Councillor Disket constituency was the Guest of Honour.
Tsering Namgail Argon, President Samstan Otsal Tsogspa , Sumoor congratulated Tigger Sporting club for winning the final match and congratulated SOT Sumoor for being runner up in the tournament.
Samstan Otsal Tsogspa, Cultural and Welfare society Sumoor also organised speed skating tournament for the first time. A total 5 different category senior boys, senior girls, junior boys, sub-junior boys and junior girls participated.
Chhewang Motup Staktuk VSM retired honorary captain provided free coaching to the participants since 2014 with the support of Winter Sports Club Leh and Police Department Leh headed by Dr Sunil Gupta SSP Leh.
Councillor, Rigzin Lundup assured to provide full support to develop the ice hockey rink to organise the international level matches in the years to come.
In senior boys, Thupstan Angchok was the winner and Tsewang Namgail was the runner-up, the winner of the senior girls was Nawang Spalzin and the runner-up was Dechen Angchok.
In junior category, Padma Namgail was the winner and Tsering Lamchung was the runner-up, Tundup Spalbar stood first and Stanzin Angchok second from sub-junior boys, and in junior girls category Zesdon Palmo stood first and Motup Lhamo stood second.
The new ice hockey rink was developed by Samstan Otsal Tsogspa, Cultural & Welfare Society Sumoor.
Tsultim Nurboo (younger brother of Col Chhewang Rinchen), Geshes Tsultim, Principal Samgon Chamtse School, Samstanling Gonpa, Gen Thupstan Samstan Korphon of Samstanling Gonpa, Tsering Norphail, President BJP Mandal, Nubra, Stanzin Dolma President, Ama Tsogspa Sumoor, among many were present to witness the game.
