Workshop on leveraging digital technology for master trainers held at DIET Leh

The District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Leh, successfully concluded a four-day workshop on Leveraging Digital Technology for Master Trainers of the Education Department, District Leh, held from February 17 to 20. The workshop saw the participation of more than 20 teachers from various government and private schools across the district.

The training programme was conducted by Dorjay Wangchuk, Senior Lecturer (Computer Science), who facilitated practical and interactive sessions aimed at strengthening digital pedagogy and promoting technology-enabled teaching practices among educators.

Participants were trained on key themes including: Introduction to the Digital Education Ecosystem; Digital Devices and Classroom Integration; Online Teaching-Learning Tools and Platforms; Creating Digital Lesson Plans; Assessment and Evaluation using Digital Tools; Collaborative Learning through Technology; Learning Management Systems (LMS) in School Education; Open Educational Resources (OER) for creating and curating e-content; Staying Safe in the Digital Space; Futuristic Leadership in School Education; Assistive Technologies for Children with Special Needs; and Digital Content Sharing, Storage, and Best Practices.

The workshop aimed to develop a pool of master trainers who can further mentor and train teachers in their respective schools, thereby strengthening the integration of technology in classroom teaching. Participants appreciated the hands-on approach and the practical relevance of the sessions in addressing present-day educational needs.

Principal, DIET Leh, Mirza Mehdi, appreciated the efforts of the resource person and the active participation and commitment of the teachers towards enhancing digital education practices in the district.

DIET Leh reiterated its commitment to empowering educators with digital competencies and promoting quality education through the effective use of technology in schools across the district.
