Workshop-cum-training session for pharmacists, chemists held in Khaltse
Ladakh Price Monitoring and Resource Unit in collaboration with the Drug Regulatory Wing of Drugs and Food Control Organisation, UT Ladakh organised a workshop-cum-training session with the govt. and private pharmacists and chemists of Khaltse block on December 16 at Community Health Centre, Khaltse.
The workshop session focused on the Centrally Sponsored Scheme ‘Consumer Awareness, Publicity, and Price Monitoring’ on medicine and medical devices and the ‘Prevention of Drug Abuse/Drug Addiction among children/Adolescence and illicit trafficking’.
Mohd Bashir, Drug Controller, UT Ladakh; Dr. Chamba Laskit, Block Medical Officer, CHC Khaltse; Nasreen Bano, Drugs Control Officer District Leh; Nawang Tsetan, Project Coordinator, LPMRU were the resource persons for the workshop-cum-training session.
All the information regarding medicines, their pricing, and related issues like purchasing and consumption were discussed. A written advisory on the same was circulated among participants.
They briefed about the role and responsibilities of pharmacists as the main healthcare professionals who can help in saving the health and precious lives of the common masses. Also spoke about their role in eradicating the menaces of drug abuse/drug addiction among adolescence/children and illicit trafficking in the region through their support and knowledge.
