CHOGLAMSAR :

Dr. Jigmet Yangchen, Junior Scientist, SKUAST initiated the Indus river cleanliness drive.
She said, “Last year 15 students including myself have cleaned the banks of Indus 4 times and had no support from the administration. We had collected three trucks of garbage from the area and have used 10 cans of kerosene to burn the garbage but only 50% of the areas are cleaned. But this year the garbage is less as compared to last year”.
She appeals people to engage themselves for good cause to make the place free from all sort of toxins and also setting an example for many.
Tsewang Angmo, a student of CIBS said, “I have used my holiday in a very productive way by cleaning the Indus. More people should come and step forward to make our environment neat and clean.”
