UT Administration approves top-up subsidy for PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana
The Administration of the Union Territory of Ladakh has approved an additional top-up subsidy for the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana for consumers in the region. This scheme aims to revolutionize how households across Ladakh access and utilize electricity, promoting a sustainable and energy-efficient future and achieving the carbon-neutral Ladakh envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Under the scheme, the Government of India has approved a subsidy of Rs. 33,000/KWp for up to 2KWp of rooftop solar capacity for the residential sector (first 2KWp or part thereof) and Rs. 19,800/KWp for additional rooftop solar capacity (1KWp or part thereof). Additionally, the Administration of the Union Territory of Ladakh has approved a top-up subsidy of Rs. 20,000/KWp for the first 2KWp of rooftop solar capacity and Rs. 10,000/KWp for additional rooftop solar capacity (1KWp or part thereof). There is no subsidy for additional rooftop solar capacity beyond 3KWp by either the central government or the UT Administration. Various public sector and private banks are offering loan facilities at attractive interest rates to make the scheme more appealing.
