The Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR), Kargil, inaugurated a two-day skill development workshop for journalists from the district on December 17.

The workshop was inaugurated by Raza Ali Abbidi, Assistant Director, Information, Kargil, who attended as the chief guest. Anwar Ali Tsarpa, Assistant Information Officer, reporters, photographers, members of DIPR Kargil, copy editors, and members of the Press Club Kargil, including its President and senior journalists from print, electronic, and online media, also participated.

Renowned professionals invited as resource persons included Meeqat Hashmi, Strategic Partnerships Manager and Associate Executive Editor at ABP News; Jamal Afroz Khan, a filmmaker and cinematographer with 18 years of experience as Head of Camera and Production Design at Aaj Tak, currently working with the Rekhta Foundation; and Iftikhar Hussain, a cinematographer and photographer from Planet Ladakh.

The resource persons shared valuable insights into various aspects of journalism, emphasizing digital content creation, news algorithms, and photography techniques. Topics covered included types of photography, essential techniques, and key skills, which enriched the participants’ knowledge and understanding of the field.
