Two BRO workers lose lives in tragic incident on NPD road

Executive Councillor, Er. Punchok Tashi extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and the team of 13 BRTF Project YOJAK (BRO) following the tragic loss of a machine operator and a laborer while on duty in the Cha and Neraq sector of the Nimmu-Padum-Darcha (NPD) road.
On behalf of the people of Zanskar, EC Tashi expressed deep sorrow over the incident and acknowledged the sacrifices made by BRO personnel in ensuring connectivity in remote regions.
In his message, EC Tashi stated that the loss of dedicated workers in the line of duty serves as a solemn reminder of the risks faced by those working in extreme conditions. He commended the commitment and bravery of BRO personnel and assured the organization of continued support from the local administration.
“May the departed souls rest in peace, and may the entire team of the Border Roads Organisation find the strength to continue their vital work with the same dedication,” he said.
He further emphasized the significance of BRO’s contributions to infrastructure development in Ladakh and extended his support to the affected families during this difficult time.
