Executive Councilor, Tourism and Zanskar Affairs, Er Phunsog Tashi congratulated Tsultim Chonjor from Stongday Zanskar for being conferred with prestigious Padma Shri award.

In his congratulatory remarks, EC Tashi extended gratitude to the UT Administration Ladakh, CEC LAHDC Kargil, DC Kargil, and SDM Zanskar for recommending the name of Tsultim Chonjor to the Government of India for this prestigious award. He said that Tsultim Chonjor is the only person from Kargil to have honored with this prestigious award and the people of Zanskar are overjoyed with this news.

Tsultim Chonjor in 2014 out of his own expenses, selling his land and property initiated the construction of a motorable road from the border of Himachal Pradesh to village Kargyak Lungnak Zanskar, which extends to the length of 38 kilometers.
