TLSC and Degree College Khaltse organise an awareness program
Tehsil Legal Services Committee, Khaltse (TLSC) in collaboration with Department of Sociology, Degree College, Khaltse organised an awareness programme on International Women's Day at Community Hall, Khaltse on March 8.
The speakers, Munsiff/Chairman TLSC Khaltse, Assistant Public Prosecutor (APP) Advocate Dechen Angmo, President of Ama Tsokspa, SHO Khaltse and Degree college Khaltse Dr Tsering Norphel, shed light on the historical significance and importance of the day, emphasizing the need for recognition of women’s contribution to societal progress and the challenges the face. The topics such as women’s rights under Sec 125 CrPC, domestic violence and the right to free legal aid were discussed.
The program began with a song performed by students of Degree College, Khaltse, followed by a rally/procession from the main market towards Community Hall. The participants carried play cards advocating for women’s rights and equality.
A cultural program was presented by students of college and members of Ama Tsokspa. A traditional song was also presented by H/C Mohd Abdullah.
Women from various fields were honored with Shawls and Khatak as token of appreciation for their contributions to society.
The programme was attended by Munsiff Khaltse/Chairman TLSC Khaltse, Wangial Tsering, APP Dechen Angmo, SHO Khaltse, Nissar Ali, Naib Tehsildar Khaltse, faculty/staff members of Degree College including Dr Tsering Norphel and Dr Tsering Tashi, Lambardar Khaltse, President of Ama Tsokspa, members of Ama Tsokspa Khaltse, students of Degree college, Para Legal Volunteers of Khaltse, Temisgang, Skurbuchan and Lingshed, staff members of Munsiff Court Khaltse, police officials and villagers of Khaltse.
