Three officers including Dr Sunil Gupta SSP, Tsering Gyalpo,ASP and Sonam Dechen, KPS, Dy.S.P, CID were promoted  to the rank of SSP and SP.

Dr. Sunil Gupta, IPS, SP Leh has been promoted to the rank of SSP. Tsering Gyalpo, additional Superintendent of Police Leh the officer is entitled to wear the rank of SSP since he has served more than 17 years of  gazetted rank in J&K  Police Department.Likewise, Sonam Dechen, KPS, Dy.S.P, CID Leh has also been recently promoted to the rank of S.P by Govt of J&K.

 

Tsering Gyalpo, additional Superintendent of Police Leh has joined Police Department as Sub Inspector in the year 1992 and served in various posts as Sub Inspector in the department. 

During his posting in District Leh, he works in anti-militancy fronts.  In the year 1997, state Govt of J&K has recognized his commendable job in curbing insurgency for which he was granted out of turn promotion by State Govt. Thereafter, some of the Police officers challenged the out of turn promotion of Tsering Gyalpo, finally after a prolong legal battle the Hon’ble High court of J&K and Hon’ble Supreme Court of India was pleased to pass the order in favour of Tsering Gyalpo.

All the Police officers headed by T Gyalpo, addl S.P Leh and other dignitaries present on the occasion have honoured Dr. Sunil Gupta, IPS, for his promotion to the rank of SSP with traditional Khataks and congratulated him.

 

Thereafter,  Dr. Sunil Gupta, IPS, SSP Leh has also  honoured   T.Gyalpo, Addl S.P Leh  with SSP rank and Sonam Dechen with S.P rank in a rank ceremony organized at District Police Office complex Leh, in which all ranks of District Police Leh, media fraternity and other  distinguished guests has also honored the officers with Khataks.
