Kharu team beats Lalok team and lifted the 14th CEC Cup Women's Ice Hockey Championship on February 5 at Ice Hockey Rink, NDS Sports Complex, Leh.
 
 Four teams participated in the tournament which was organized by the District Youth Services & Sports Department in collaboration with Ladakh Winter Sports Club Leh. A thrilling match took place between Lalok and Kharu where the winner was decided upon penalty shootouts.

The chief guest of the occasion, Deputy Chairman LAHDC, Leh Tsering Angchuk congratulated the winner as well as the runner-up teams. He said that this sport has evolved tremendously over the years in terms of techniques and popularity in the region. Players from the region are getting opportunities at international levels and they have been constantly bringing laurels to Ladakh. 
 
He also lauded the tireless efforts of Ladakh Winter Sports Club and the Department of Youth Services and Sports in organizing such tournaments and training camps for decades in the harsh winter of Ladakh.
 
Prizes were distributed and players along with officials were felicitated by the guests in the end.
