A vibrant team of skilled artisans, culinary experts, and agripreneurs from Ladakh is proudly participating in Lok Samvardhan Parv, being held from April 5 to 13 at the Convocation Ground, University of Kashmir, Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir.

In a notable development, the National Minorities Development & Finance Corporation (NMDFC) has approved flight ticket reimbursements for participants from remote and hilly regions like Ladakh—where connectivity remains a significant challenge. Previously, only rail and road travel reimbursements were allowed.

This positive change was made possible through the recommendation of Chairman/CEC, LAHDC Leh, Adv. Tashi Gyalson, to Kiren Rijiju, Minister of Minority Affairs, Government of India.

The event is being organised by NMDFC under the aegis of the Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India.

It is a proud moment for Ladakh as the team showcases the region’s rich cultural heritage, traditional skills, and entrepreneurial spirit on a prestigious national platform. Their participation highlights the diversity, creativity, and resilience of Ladakh's people.

This progressive initiative has received widespread appreciation and is expected to open doors for greater participation from Ladakh in future national-level events. The support extended includes air travel assistance, complimentary marketing stalls, daily dearness allowance, and honorariums for artisans and entrepreneurs engaged in skill demonstrations and product exhibitions.
