Team for free eye camp in Leh district flagged-off
The advanced screening team of the Free Mega Eye Camp was flagged-off for their 20 days extensive screening camp in the Leh district on July 7.
LAHDC Leh and Phande Lekchin Welfare Trust, Leh, in collaboration with the Tilganga Institute of Ophthalmology, Nepal is organising the Free Mega Eye Camp.
The first batch of the team was flagged-off to Sku-Markha and Wanla areas by the President of the Phande Lekchin Welfare Trust, Leh, Ven. Khenpo Konchok Dorjey in the presence of other dignitaries and officials from Tilganga Institute of Ophthalmology, Nepal.
Chairman/CEC, LAHDC Leh, Adv Tashi Gyalson stated that this charitable initiative will surely help people in far-flung areas as we are sending the Screening team to their doorstep. He assured to assist the poor patients to Leh, who would be advised further surgery in the screening camps.
CEC Gyalson shared that the Phaco Cataract Surgery will be performed by the world-renowned Dr. Sanduk Ruit of Tilganga, assisted by our capable doctors and paramedics. The entire process is free of cost, including the required change of lenses.
“I am thankful to Dr. Sanduk Ruit, the Phande Lekchin Welfare Trust, Leh, and the team from Tilganga Hospital and our SNM team headed by Director Health, CMO, doctors, and all involved staff”, added CEC Gyalson.
