Tashi Namgyal Yakzee attends International Sangha Forum 2023 at Bodh Gaya
Executive Councillor Tashi Namgyal Yakzee, representing LAHDC Leh and UT Ladakh, participated in the four-day International Sangha Forum 2023 held at Bodh Gaya from December 20.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama as the chief guest, alongside the presence of Chief Minister Arunachal Pradesh, Pema Khandu, as the guest of honor. The event witnessed esteemed personalities, including Rinpoches, Khanpos, Geshes, nuns, and monks from various corners of the globe.
With over 2000 monastic from diverse Buddhist traditions worldwide, the International Sangha Forum fostered discussions on the intricate aspects of Vinaya rules and the evolving role of Buddhism in the 21st century.
In his address, Tashi Namgyal Yakzee extended a warm welcome to the international delegations on behalf of the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council, Leh, and the people of Ladakh. Emphasizing the council's commitment to fulfilling His Holiness's guidance, Yakzee highlighted the focus on fostering continuous Pali and Sanskrit dialogues, cultural exchanges, and collaborations among practitioners from Southeast and Southeast Asian countries.
He underscored the pivotal role of the conference in identifying and promoting shared studies and practices across traditions, fostering appreciation and understanding of the unique strengths of different nations.
