A property card distribution program under the SVAMITVA scheme was successfully conducted on January 18 at Halqa Panchayat Silmoo in Sodh Block.

The event saw participation from around 80 villagers, who attentively listened to a presentation by Block Development Officer (BDO) Sodh Block, Tsering Wangchok. He highlighted the primary purpose and objectives of the SVAMITVA scheme and provided insights into other ongoing flagship programs of the Rural Development Department (RDD), including MGNREGA, SBM-G, and PMAY-G.

The Patwari from the Revenue Department also addressed the gathering, explaining the significance of property cards and their role in empowering rural communities. Property cards were distributed to a majority of the participants during the event.

Additionally, Block Programme Manager Zaira elaborated on the objectives of the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM). She discussed the process for forming new Self-Help Groups (SHGs) under the mission and encouraged participants to register and take advantage of the initiative.

As part of the program, the BDO, along with the village chairman and other members, distributed 6-7 dustbins to users. Plans were made to distribute the remaining dustbins before the opening of the Segregation Centre to ensure effective waste management in the village.

A medical team was also present at the event, conducting health check-ups for approximately 50 villagers.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Basit Ali, who expressed gratitude to the participants and officials from various departments for their cooperation in making the event a success.
