As a part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations, a programme themed, 'Iconic Week' was organised at Sub-Division Khaltse.
 
Awareness camp on the issuance of residence certificate, golden card, Aadhar card, employment registration, schemes related to bank loans, job card, Jal Jeevan Mission scheme, One Nation One Ration card was held. Handicrafts and handloom products were also displayed during the event. Government departments also spread awareness about different schemes to the people. 
 
Cultural Academy Department, Leh, artists from different villages of Sham block, students from Government Higher Secondary School, and Middle School, Khaltse presented a cultural performance.
 
Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Khaltse, Suhail Ahmad; Chairman, BDC Khaltsi, Stanzin Choskit; Chairman BDC Skurbuchan, Tashi Yangskit; Sarpanch Khaltsi, Nawang Rigzin; Sarpanch Lamayuru, Tashi Nurboo; Sarpanch Tia, Phuntsog Angchuk, concerned officers and officials of Sub-Division Khaltse were present during the occasion.
 
The iconic week was also celebrated in Nyoma Subdivision.
