SIDCO Board reviews Industrial and Infrastructure growth in Ladakh

Chief Secretary of Ladakh, Ashish Kundra, Chairman of the Sindhu Infrastructure Development Corporation (SIDCO), chaired the 6th Board of Directors meeting of SIDCO in Leh on February 13

The meeting focused on strengthening the corporation’s financial sustainability and accelerating industrial and infrastructure development across the Union Territory.

The meeting commenced with a welcome address by Bhupesh Chaudhary, Managing Director, SIDCO, who presented a comprehensive overview of the corporation’s ongoing projects, achievements, operational challenges, and future roadmap. He highlighted SIDCO’s role in promoting sustainable industrial growth, transport services, financial inclusion, and infrastructure development in Ladakh.

The Board held extensive deliberations on improving operational efficiency, enhancing public services, expanding revenue streams, and optimizing institutional mechanisms.

Emphasis was laid on strengthening transport connectivity, particularly in remote and underserved areas, improving passenger convenience, and streamlining systems to ensure better service delivery.

The Chief Secretary underscored the importance of expanding outreach initiatives to ensure wider access to SIDCO’s financial assistance schemes. He stressed the need for structured awareness campaigns, digital dissemination of information, and engagement initiatives to promote self-employment opportunities among the youth of Ladakh.

The Board also deliberated on various administrative, financial, and policy-related matters aimed at reinforcing governance frameworks, rationalizing operational processes, enhancing institutional capacity, and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.

Discussions further focused on improving asset utilization, augmenting revenue generation, strengthening infrastructure support systems, and exploring sustainable development opportunities across sectors.

The Chief Secretary emphasized the need for transparent processes, improved coordination among departments, and strategic planning to ensure long-term growth and financial stability of SIDCO. He reiterated the Administration’s commitment to fostering industrial expansion, infrastructure modernization, and inclusive economic development in Ladakh.

The meeting was attended by Bhupesh Chaudhary, Managing Director, SIDCO Ladakh; Sonam Norbo, General Manager SIDCO; Konchok Gyalson, Joint Director Planning; Stanzin Pasang, District Manager SIDCO Finance (SC/ST & OBC Wing); Er. Mohd Hussain, Traffic Manager SIDCO Transport; along with other officials. Officers stationed outside Ladakh participated virtually.
