Sheep Husbandry Department installs 448 kid pens in Nyoma subdivision
The Department of Sheep Husbandry, Leh, has taken a proactive step to safeguard young animals during the harsh winter months by installing 448 kid pens in the Nyoma subdivision. This strategic installation aims to mitigate the loss of young animals in villages such as Korzok, Kharnak, Koyul, Demjok, Dungti, Hanle, and Rongo.
Acknowledging the vulnerability of young animals during severe weather, this initiative under the Vibrant Village program seeks to ensure their well-being. The program is designed to establish a more sustainable and resilient environment for livestock rearers, especially during challenging winter seasons.
Active participation from 460 livestock rearers contributed to the success of this initiative. Department representatives were also actively involved, emphasizing the importance of safeguarding young animals in these areas.
