SDM Zanskar, Romil Singh Donk (IAS), chaired a meeting of all Booth Level Officers (BLOs) to discuss arrangements and other matters related to the Lok Sabha election on May 7.

During the meeting, the Tehsildar/AERO Zanskar, Mohd Hassan, introduced all BLOs to the SDM and commended the work achieved by them so far.

The SDM distributed the latest Electoral rolls and ID cards to BLOs and urged all to ensure the smooth conclusion of the polls in the sub-division and strive to conduct elections with the highest standards of integrity and efficiency.

The Tehsildar/AERO Zanskar highlighted to the BLOs the importance of updating the ASD details and ensuring submission to the Tehsildar/AERO office by or before May 8.

SDM Zanskar also directed the provision of necessary facilities for polling parties along with arrangements of accommodations for polling personnel on polling day at the premises of respective polling stations.

Discussions were also held on the issuance of EDC forms on May 9 to the election duty personnel of Zanskar sub-division, who are likely to be deployed to Kargil for election duty. It was decided that two staff from the AERO office shall be deputed to issue the EDC forms, which subsequently must be submitted to the Chief Planning Officer Kargil (Nodal officer EDC) on May 10.

In the end, the Tehsildar/AERO Zanskar expressed gratitude to the SDM for chairing the meeting and providing invaluable guidance for the seamless execution of the election process. The meeting was also attended by ZEO and BDO and the representatives of PHE and PDD departments.
