SDM Khaltse holds key meeting to regulate traffic and cleanliness in market area

With the onset of summer and a subsequent rise in traffic movement in the Khaltse Market area, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Khaltse, Mohd Sharief, convened a meeting on April 9 with concerned officers and stakeholders to discuss effective measures for traffic regulation and cleanliness.
The meeting focused on streamlining traffic flow and maintaining hygiene in and around the market. It was unanimously decided that shopkeepers would no longer be allowed to park vehicles near their shops to reduce congestion.
The SDM directed officials to take proactive steps to ensure smooth vehicular movement and cleanliness. He emphasized the need for installing speed limit signboards, regulating parking durations, designating specific parking zones, and using ‘No Parking’ stickers to improve traffic management.
Attendees included Station House Officer (SHO) Khaltse, Jamyany Namgail; Officer-in-Charge (OIC) 81 RCC GREF, Syam SV; Block Development Officer (BDO) Khaltse, Pankaj Rajput; Sub-Inspector, Police Station Khaltse, Skarma Angchok; Junior Engineer, GREF, Dhanukonda Dileep; Namberdar Khaltse, Stanzin Phurboo; President of the Merchant Association Khaltse, Thinles Dorjay; and Vice President, Rigzin Yangjor.
Following the meeting, the SDM, accompanied by the concerned officials and stakeholders, conducted a field visit to key congestion points in the Khaltse Market, including the taxi and private vehicle parking areas and the Segregation Centre, to assess on-ground challenges.
