A science festival, 2019 under the theme 'Young Innovators' was inaugurated by Baseer ul Haq Choudhary, Deputy Commissioner, Kargil on October 12 at Suru Valley Public Higher Secondary School Kargil. 

The science festival featured a model exhibition and painting competition in which students of more than 27 schools participated including 13 in the model presentation and 14 in the painting competition.

Baseer ul Haq Choudhary, while inspecting the model exhibition stalls keenly examined various models and ideas of the students and appreciated them for having come up with such unique and innovative scientific concepts. He also praised the paintings of the students.

He said that knowledge of science and technology among youngsters develops in them an attitude of logical and rational thinking that would facilitate them in leading a successful life and become resourceful to society.

In total, 39 models were exhibited by the students of various age groups from Class 1st to 5th, 6th to 8th and 9th to 12th.

Earlier, Professor Nasir Shabani, Secretary Suru Valley Public School (SVPS) said that the school management has ensured maximum participation of students from class 1st to 12th in the science festival.   

Later the dignitaries distributed young innovator trophies and certificates of participation among the winners and other participating students.
