Road Safety Month: Traffic police organises awareness rally
Traffic Police Ladakh, while celebrating the 32nd National Road Safety Month organised a road safety awareness program at Petrol Pump, Leh on February 11.
An awareness rally was carried out in which students from various institutions, representatives from the transport union, drivers, and volunteers participated.
RTO Ladakh, Tsering Paldan-KAS; Road Safety Engineer, Aditya Magotra; SP Traffic, M.R.Giri-JKPS; and DySP Traffic, Rigzin Sandup-JKPS, Taxi Union president, drivers, students, and volunteers were present.
SP Traffic highlighted that the purpose of this awareness programme is to make the transporters, students, and general masses aware of road safety thereby saving lives from road accidents. He stressed that commuters should use seat belts, avoid rash driving and wrong parking and obey traffic rules.
He sought the cooperation of all stakeholders in making the traffic system better in both districts.
