To take stock of the tourism activities and projects in the district, Dorjey Mutup, CEC convened a review meeting on July 24 in Leh.

Talking about the allegation of focussing development in and around Leh keeping the far-flung villages deprived of developmental activities, Dorjey Motup asked to concentrate on remote areas equally. He urged them to give their best in completing the assigned projects in these villages.

He also stressed on the utility of assets and directed the officers to ensure proper utilisation of the facilities being made for the public. instructions were given out to clear liabilities and complete the works on time ensuring coordination among departments.      

 

He further enquired about the developmental projects related to tourism promotion in the district department wise. 

Noting out progress status of tourism projects in the district, he sought reasons from the concern officers about the delay in the completion of certain projects.  He asked Avny Lavasa, DC to constitute a quality check committee to ensure the work quality of these projects and officers to draft a maintenance grant proposal and submit it to the state government for financial assistance.

Projects like Lake Circuit, Trans-Himalayan Convention Centre and projects under NBCC were discussed.

Tsering Angdus, EC Agriculture, Gyal P Wangyal, EC, Health, Mumtaz Hussain, EC, Animal Husbandry, Tsering Sandup, EC Tourism, Avny Lavasa, DC, Leh District Officers of LDA, Wildlife, LREDA, Tourism Department and Manager, Leh JKPCC were present in the meeting.
