Sheikh Haasan Waieze, religious scholar and member of Ulema Council, Anjuman e Jamiat Ulema Isna Ashariya Kargil (AJUIAK) passed away after a brief illness at his residence in Poyen, Kargil on November 20.

Sheikh Hassan Waieze pursued his basic education from the Islamic School of Ayatullah Sheikh Mohammad Ali Brolmo Najafi and after that went for higher studies to Najaf Ashraf where he learned Higher Islamic Studies and returned to his home place for disseminating Islamic teachings and learning. He was a member of Anjuman e Jamiat Ulema Isna Ashariya Kargil (AJUIAK), Ladakh, and also offered his service as a teacher at Hozia Ilmiya Kargil. He was also the Imam Jumma and Qazi, Kargil and in his last year, he remained as trustee (Mutawalli) of AJUIAK Ladakh.

President, AJUIAK Ladakh, Shiekh Nazir Mehdi Mohammadi offered the Nimaz E Janaza. Sheikh Waieze was laid to rest at his ancestral cemetery at Hunderman, Kargil.

Religious, political, and people from all walks of life condoled the sudden demise of Sheikh Hassan Waieze. They also prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul.
