In an effort to regulate prices and maintain market stability, the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Leh, Ghulam Mohd (JKAS), convened a meeting on April 7 to discuss and fix reasonable rates for vegetables, fruits, dairy products, and flowers for the 2025 season.

Key officials and stakeholders, including the Additional Superintendent of Police, the Assistant Director of FCS&CA, and other concerned officers, attended the meeting.

During the session, the current rates of vegetables, fruits, and dairy products were reviewed by all stakeholders. A special committee was constituted to monitor the roadside sale of vegetables and flowers. The committee was also instructed to restrict sales on highways to avoid inconvenience to both motorists and vendors.

Officials stressed the importance of vendors prominently displaying official rate lists to ensure transparency and fair trade practices.

The primary objective of the meeting was to set fair and reasonable prices for essential commodities, ensuring benefits for both consumers and sellers. By streamlining pricing and market conduct, the administration aims to foster a smooth and efficient trading environment in Leh.
