Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kargil, Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Wani convened a meeting with district officers on August 11 and reviewed arrangements for 76th Independence Day 2023 celebrations.

The meeting was attended by ACR Kargil, Program Officer ICDS, Divisional Forest Officer, Dy SP DAR Kargil, Chief Education Officer, Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Horticulture Officer, AO to DC, Headquarter Assistant to DC and other officers/officials.

ADC reviewed the necessary facilities and arrangements being put in place for the smooth and peaceful conduct of Independence Day in the district. He directed officers of all concerned departments to work out a comprehensive plan to ensure all necessary arrangements are made in advance like march past, commentary proceeding, decoration and other related arrangements.

He also took stock of arrangements and other facilities like seating arrangements, transport & parking facilities, electricity & water supply, medical aid, fire and emergency services, installation of PAS, erection of hoardings, catering arrangements, raising of the national flag and illumination of Govt. buildings on August 15, 2023.

Besides media management, security-related matters, issuance of security passes, and entry of VVIPs, VIPs and other participants were discussed in threadbare.

With regard to invitation cards and seating arrangements, ADC asked the officers to conduct a comprehensive exercise to make sure that invitation cards are delivered to all dignitaries in advance, besides proper seating arrangements made as per the protocol.

He also stressed making full-proof security arrangements in and around the stadium to ensure the hassle-free celebration of the function. MC Kargil was directed to ensure arrangements for sanitation and cleanliness in and around Khree Sultan Cho Stadium Kargil.

Later, the ADC along with other concerned officers visited the site of the celebration and took an assessment of the arrangements being made.
