Polling personnel get training for municipal election Acquainted with guidelines, efficient handling of EVMs and other procedures

Election training to the polling personnel deployed in different wards for the upcoming municipal election was conducted on September 29.
The training was carried out under the supervision of Avny Lavasa, DC also the District Election Officer. Thinles Dawa and Mohd. Ayub, District level master trainers gave comprehensive training about the handling of Electronic Voting Machines.
The officials were made well conversant with the election guidelines, efficiently handling of Electronic Voting Machine and other important polling procedures in order to ensure free, fair and transparent Municipal elections.
The Municipal Leh is divided into 13 wards and polling for the election of members in these wards shall be held in 21 Polling stations through Electronic Voting Machines on October 8. Final training to the polling staff is scheduled on October 6 and the polling parties shall be dispatched for all the wards on October 7.
Avny Lavasa said that holding of polling is much greater responsibility ahead, therefore she cautioned each and every polling officials to take the training very seriously.
Highlighting each and every detail of polling guidelines among the Presiding and Polling Officers, Dr. Udham Dass, Dy. District Election Officer urged to follow the instructions of Election Commission cautiously and vigilantly at every level of the election process, leaving no room for any lapses and complications.
Important procedures like collection of polling materials, setting up of polling stations, seating arrangement of each polling officers, installation of voting compartment, identification of voters, use of EVMs, filling of forms and sealing procedures, holding of mock poll prior to election, role of Presiding officers and Polling officers etc. were also imparted.
