Pema Care Founder pitches wellness centre in Zanskar CEC Kargil backs initiative to strengthen community-based healthcare
Pema Chosdon from Nerok, Zanskar, Founder of Pema Care on April10 called on CEC, LAHDC Kargil, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon, along with Executive Councillor and Zanskar Development Authority representative, Er. Phunchok Tashi, at the Council Secretariat Kargil.
During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on strengthening access to organic and Ayurvedic healthcare services in the Kargil district.
Pema Chosdon shared her vision of establishing a holistic heritage wellness centre in the region, aimed at promoting traditional healing practices, preserving cultural heritage, and enhancing overall community well-being.
The deliberations also highlighted the efforts of Pema Care in developing an inclusive and sustainable model for wellness and community development, with a focus on local participation and long-term impact.
CEC appreciated the initiative and acknowledged its potential to create meaningful impact by improving access to healthcare while simultaneously generating livelihood opportunities for the local population. He emphasized that such innovative approaches could significantly contribute to the socio-economic development of remote areas of Kargil especially like Zanskar and other regions of Kargil.
The meeting further explored avenues for collaboration and institutional support from LAHDC Kargil. CEC assured that the Council would extend all possible support and play a proactive and innovative role in promoting such initiatives in the region.
Pema Chosdon expressed her gratitude to the CEC and the Executive Councillor for their encouraging and forward-looking approach towards strengthening traditional and community-based healthcare systems.
