PD Nitya assumes charge as SSP, Leh
PD Nitya, a 2016 batch IPS officer assumed charge as the new Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Leh on December 29. She replaced SSP Rajiv Pandey.
An introductory meeting was held at Conference Hall, Police line, Choglamsar. SHOs, Incharge Police Posts, and Section Incharges of the District Police were present.
PD Nitya said that the District Police, Leh will be focusing specially on crime against women, drug abuse, cyber and financial frauds.
She said, “Team of District Police Leh will be working very closely with the people and we are also expecting full cooperation of the people of Leh to be more responsive towards the needs of the society.”
Talking about the crime against women cases that go unreported she said, “ It will be prime challenges which need to be overcome and every effort will be done. The change has to come from the society but from the police point of view, we will make the reach to police very accessible and the remedy or action will be taken as per law.”
PD Nitya also aims to ensure police and public relationship friendly by organizing various outreach programme specially for the youths. The activities will be more youth-oriented to show the friendly and progressive side of the police.
