Kargil :
On September 7, a group of 15 para-veterinarians and trained attendants from the Animal Husbandry Department, Kargil, was flagged off for a 10-day specialized training program at the North Regional Demonstration and Training Centre, National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), Jalandhar.
The training, starting on September 9, 2024, will focus on artificial insemination techniques and animal health management—key skills for enhancing livestock productivity and health in the region. Dr. Gulzar Hussain, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer of Kargil, who flagged off the team, emphasized the importance of this training in advancing the technical capabilities of para-veterinarians and attendants. He noted that the skills gained from this program will be vital in improving breeding practices and overall animal healthcare services in Kargil, thereby benefiting local farmers and the livestock sector.
This training marks the first of three planned groups. Two additional batches of para-veterinarians and attendants will follow, ensuring a broader base of trained personnel to implement advanced techniques in the district. The initiative is a significant step in the department's efforts to enhance animal husbandry services in Kargil, focusing on sustainable livestock development and farmer welfare.
