An orientation programme for poll officials regarding ERO Net Version II under the directions of the District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner, Kargil was held on June 23 at Auditorium Hall, Kargil.

The orientation programme was organized with the objective to enlighten and familiarize the Electoral Registration Officers (EROs), Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs), Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and Supervisors on procedural aspects of inclusion, addition, correction and deletion as well as the filling up of Form 6, Form 6-A, Form 7, Form 8 and Form 8-A through OTP mode under ERO Net Version II. 

Imteaaz Kacho, ADC said that such type of orientation session would help in widening the knowledge of the poll officials while dealing with everyday matters pertaining to the election process. 

He impressed upon the concerned poll officials to expedite the process of House to House Survey and submit their reports to the District Election Officer Kargil by 25th of June, 2018.      

The concerned officials were also directed to verify and confirm the credentials of 100 years plus voters besides to identify the Person with Disability voters in their respective polling booths and to see the provision of Basic Minimum Facility (BMR) to facilitate such voters during the casting of votes.   

 

Zakir Hussain, Election Naib Tehsildar and Muhammad Amin and Muhammad Hadi, District Level Master Trainer (DLMT) spoke in detail about the electoral registration process and launch of improved ERO Net Version II and OTP by the Election Commission of India, awareness of the improved version and the need to familiarize the EROs, AEROs, BLOs as well as the supervisors with the operation of the ERO Net latest version.
