District Police Leh apprehended one drug peddler and seized 640 grams of ganja from his possession on May 5.

Team of Police Post Choglamsar, Leh while conducting random Naka checking at Kuze-Buddha Chowk, Chuchot Yokma, road caught a suspicious person carrying a bag. After checking, police recovered Ganja like substance from the possession of a person named Vivek Kumar S/O Sonelal Prasad R/O Pipra, Santpur West Champaran Bihar.

The case was registered under FIR No 55/2022 u/s 8/20 NDPS Act at Police Station Leh and an investigation has started.

District Police Leh requests the general public to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers and join hands with police in the fight against the menace of drugs in the district. 

Police said that consistent efforts are being made by District Police, Leh to keep the society, especially youths free from the scourge of drug menace and persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt with strictly as per law.
