Observation-cum-Special Home established in Leh
Office of the District Child Protection Officer, Leh, Social and Tribal Welfare Department, UT Ladakh established an Observation-cum-Special Home for Leh district on June 20.
Deputy Chairman, LAHDC Leh, Tsering Angchuk was the chief guest during the inauguration ceremony. Commissioner Secretary, Social, and Tribal Welfare Department, Ladakh, Padma Angmo, and Deputy Commissioner, Leh, Shrikant Suse were also present.
Deputy Chairman, LAHDC Leh added that such a juvenile observation home was the need of the hour. Further, stressing the effective and efficient functioning of the observation home, Dy Chairman shared that the recruitment and training of the officers and officials should be prioritized and deliberated as well.
DIG Ladakh Police expressed his satisfaction with the establishment of the observation-cum- special home in Leh. Though the crime rate is low in Ladakh, the opening of the observation home is a step ahead which would greatly aid in any juvenile-related cases, added DIG Ladakh.
Member Secretary State Legal Service Authority, Spalzes Angmo; Chairman, Juvenile Justice Board, Leh, Wangyal Tsering; District Social Welfare Officer, Leh, Nilza Angmo; District Child Protection Unit, Leh officers/officials along with the members of the Child Welfare Committee and Juvenile Justice Board, Leh were also present on the occasion.
