New Road Sweeping Machine for Leh & Kargil The machine can store 3 tonnes of solid waste and clean 10-15 km road length in an hour
Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, RK Mathur flagged off Road Sweeping Machine procured for Municipal Committee Leh on May 18. He handed over the keys of the Machine to the President, Municipal Committee, Leh.
Commissioner Secretary, Housing and Urban Development Department, Ajeet Kumar Sahu briefed about the features of the Road Sweeping Machine such as the hydraulic brooms, vacuum suction and water sprinkler that would facilitate efficient and fast collection of garbage and cleaning of the roads. He informed that the Road Sweeping Machine would increase the speed of the cleaning of streets/roads in Ladakh and help the Municipal Committee to deliver services more efficiently. He stated that a similar machine has been procured for Kargil.
The engineer from Kam-Avida, the solution provider company, informed that the Road Sweeping Machine can store 3 tonnes of solid waste and clean 10-15 km road length in an hour.
LG Mathur stated that based on the success of the Road Sweeping Machine in the winters, more such machines can be procured to keep Leh and Kargil towns clean.
Deputy Commissioner, Leh, Shrikant Balasaheb Suse; Director, Urban Local Bodies, Dr Zahida Bano; President, Municipal Committee Leh, Dr Ishey Namgyal; Executive Officer, MC Leh, Stanzin Rabgais were present during the flag-off ceremony.
