Nawang Tsering Shakspo to Arunachal Literary Festival
Nawang Tsering Shakspo, a historian from Ladakh to attend the prestigious Arunachal Literary Festival, (A.L.F.) to be held from November 17 to 19 at Itanagar.
Department of Information and Public Relations, Government of Arunachal Pradesh and Arunachal Pradesh Literary Society extended an invitation to Nawang to speak on the topic, ‘Literary trends in Ladakh’. He will be interacting with the scholars of the Central Institute of Himalayan Culture Studies, Bomdila, and literary figures of Tawang Monastery, popularly known as Galdan Namgyal Lhatse.
Nawang Tsering Shakspo is the former Head of the Jammu and Kashmir, Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, Leh, and served as the Chief Editor for around 35 years. He is the author of a well-known book on Ladakh, ‘A Cultural History of Ladakh’ and his autobiography published under the title, Autobiography of a Ladakhi. Presently Nawang is the Director of the Centre for Research on Ladakh and has published the journal Ladakh Review, under the auspices of the Centre for Research on Ladakh and the journal continuously since 2015.
