National Constitution Day: CEC Dr. Akhoon takes pledge at Council Secretariat, Kargil

On National Constitution Day, Chairman/CEC, LAHDC Kargil, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon, took the pledge and read the Preamble of the Indian Constitution at the Council Secretariat in Kargil on November 26.

Executive Councillor for Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, and Information, LAHDC Kargil, Er. Punchok Tashi and concerned officers, officials, and staff of the Council Secretariat attended the event.

In his address, CEC Dr. Akhoon emphasized the importance of upholding and protecting India's sovereignty, unity, and integrity, as well as the ideals and institutions enshrined in the Constitution. He highlighted the significance of the Constitution's Preamble, which outlines the core values of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity.

Describing the Constitution as “a living machinery and a vehicle of life,” Dr. Akhoon referred to it as a “holy book” that has guided India's development and helped its citizens fulfill their aspirations. He reiterated the commitment to working in alignment with the constitutional principles to foster faster growth, progress, and development for the nation.

Dr. Akhoon urged all officers to take necessary steps to promote the national campaign on creating awareness about fundamental duties. He stressed the need to study and understand the various aspects of the Constitution, especially about Fundamental Rights and duties, and their applicability in daily life.

The CEC also called on all officers and officials to uphold a sense of brotherhood and work toward achieving the goals of social, economic, and political justice, equality, and liberty, as laid out in the Constitution’s Preamble.

The participants expressed their strong commitment to securing justice, liberty, and equality for all citizens, while promoting fraternity, ensuring the dignity of the individual, and strengthening the unity and integrity of the nation.
