MP visits Baroo, Minji, and Choskore constituencies; reviews public issues and assures early resolution

Member of Parliament visited various areas of the Baroo, Minji, and Choskore constituencies along with concerned officers and public representatives to review local issues and developmental works on November 7. The visit covered Dyangunchay, Gramthang, Goma Minji, Chukkah, Yokma Minji, Minji Gond, Titichumik, Baroo, Gonkha, Stikchay, and Chutuk villages, where the MP interacted with residents and took stock of essential services, road infrastructure, educational institutions, and civic amenities.

At Dyangunchay and Gramthang, residents demanded the establishment of a medical dispensary, improvement of link roads, installation of heating systems in religious places, and proper implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM). The MP assured that horticulture damage compensation proposals have already been forwarded to the government and a one-time package will address the issue. He directed the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to examine medical assistance proposals and urged the community to cooperate in the smooth execution of road and infrastructure projects.

In Gramthang, the discussion centered on educational infrastructure. Locals demanded the upgradation of the Government Middle School, construction of pre-primary classrooms, a library, an indoor stadium, and a boundary wall. Issues related to lift irrigation, road blacktopping, and teacher shortages were also highlighted. The MP emphasized community participation in education and health sectors and assured that road and irrigation concerns would be addressed in the upcoming budget.

At Goma Minji, the public sought the upgradation of the Government Middle School to a high school, appointment of MTS staff, and clearance of pending compensation cases for road works. The MP informed that proposals under Samagra Shiksha are under consideration and assured that lift irrigation and road projects will be prioritized in the next budget.

In Chukkah Minji, residents demanded blacktopping of the main road, installation of a new transformer, construction of a bridge, and establishment of a women’s skill centre. The MP assured that pending compensation cases will be addressed under available schemes and directed officials to expedite the installation of street lights. He also instructed concerned departments to resolve classroom and sweeper shortages at Grong and Thang schools.

At Yokma Minji and Minji Gond, educational issues dominated discussions. The MP lauded the performance of PM SHRI School Minji and announced its upgradation to Higher Secondary level. He stressed community involvement, rationalization of teachers, and performance-based transfers. Locals also demanded playgrounds, improved hospital facilities, and better telecom connectivity. The MP assured to raise these issues with concerned departments and resolve road compensation matters soon.

In Titichumik, residents sought upgradation of the community hall, improvement of link roads, restoration of JJM works, establishment of women’s centres, and better irrigation facilities. The MP assured to take up these issues with higher authorities and to address teacher shortages on priority.

At Baroo, the public demanded upgradation of the medical centre, completion of PDD cabling, renovation of snow protection walls, and establishment of a cattle shed and central heating system. The MP informed that lift irrigation from Beyamathang and snow protection wall projects are already under process and will be expedited. He added that pending compensation and infrastructure liabilities will be resolved in coordination with the Council.

In Gonkha (Choskore Constituency), issues such as road widening, reconstruction of the school building, establishment of a medical centre, and JJM-related concerns were raised. The MP assured upgradation of the PMGSY road and improvement of local infrastructure.

At Stikchay, residents demanded link road connectivity from Lamachunay to Baahoo, restoration of the irrigation canal, construction of a motorable bridge to Minji, and provision of solar lift irrigation facilities. The MP assured that the bridge proposal will be taken up under CRF funds and directed departments to expedite school land and heating system issues.

In Chutuk, residents demanded recognition of the revenue village, separation of the Panchayat Halqa, upgradation of the medical centre, compensation for road projects, installation of additional transformers, and development of picnic spots and playgrounds. The MP encouraged youth to explore self-employment opportunities through seabuckthorn cultivation and assured to take up the transformer and bridge issues with the concerned departments.

Throughout the tour, the MP emphasized collective effort, transparency, and active community participation for the holistic development of the region. He assured that all genuine issues will be addressed in a phased manner through coordinated action between departments and public representatives.
