MP Ladakh meets HRD Minister, submits suggestions for Buddhist culture and traditions revival Expresses gratitude to the Modi Government for the initiatives to revive Buddhist culture and traditions in India
MP, Ladakh Jamyang Tsering Namgyal met Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, Union HRD Minister, and expressed heartfelt gratitude and sincere appreciation to the Modi Government for the unparallel initiatives of reviving the Buddhist culture and traditions in India.
To establish India as a Global Center of Buddhist Culture and Tourism various initiatives like the commencement of courses related to Buddhism and courses supplementing Tourism Studies, promoting of Pali Language, etc were initiated.
Jamyang also applauds the initiatives of the Ministry of Education, GoI for preparing a comprehensive database on all Buddhism-related courses, Buddhist Scholars, and annual conferences/seminars/Conclaves on Buddhism organised by Universities.
He submitted a written representation requesting to collect data, feedbacks and information are from the Non-Governmental Buddhist Institutions and Associations based across India from Ladakh to Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh.
The letter reads, "As there are hundreds of NGO’s Buddhist institutions across India that facilitate higher Buddhist studies for thousands of Himalayan Buddhist aspirant monks and nuns students and these private monastic institutions disseminate the ancient Nalanda Tradition Buddhist studies and produces hundreds of highly learned scholars. It would be of great benefit if the feedback is also collected from the high Ranked Rinpoches/Lamas as well as highly qualified scholars from the Nalanda tradition institutions based in India.”
He also requested to extend the last date of feedback submission for a minimum of ten days more so that the required data and feedback can be collected from all the said sources.
