MP Ladakh-led delegation from Zanskar meets LG Mathur
A delegation from Zanskar led by Member of Parliament, Ladakh, Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, and Councillor, Cha, Stanzin Lakpa met Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, RK Mathur, at Raj Niwas on May 18.
The delegation requested intervention in the construction of a multipurpose utility centre in Karsha village for Buddhist studies. Councillor Cha raised the demand of declaring Zanskar as a separate district at the earliest.
MP Ladakh requested for consideration of various projects in Ladakh, including the construction of roads, bridges, crafts centers, community parks, irrigation canals, ice hockey rinks, community halls, multipurpose community halls, transmission lines, cultural centres, etc., under Special Development Package.
Another delegation led by Mohd Mehraj Mustaq from Drass raised several issues related to the development of the village, viz. creation of a block headquarters at Thasgam Kharboo; establishment of a branch of a leading bank at one of the villages in Dandal, Jusgond, Shimsha, Thasgam, and Kharboo; upgradation of the Government High School at Thasgam to Government High Secondary School; opening Amarnath Yatra route from Meenamarg in Drass; opening Laser La at Jusgond for promotion of tourism activities and bringing the area on the tourism map; renovation of Goshan Kharand Kharboo Khar; setting up of competitive examination centres in Kargil; easing process of availing Kisan Credit Card (KCC) loan for the benefit of farmers; opening of Drass-Gurez Road for tourist activities, intervention to promote tourism activities at Tiger Hill and Tololing Hill, etc.
