Mobile veterinary healthcare program held in Durbuk sub-division
Animal Husbandry Department Leh organised a three-day mobile veterinary healthcare/ outreach program in Durbuk sub-division.
The camps aimed to provide essential healthcare services to animals and create awareness among the public about livestock diseases, livestock management, and departmental schemes.
The program was held on July 13, 14, and 15 in Durbuk, Barma Kargyam, and Shachukul respectively. During the camp, 23 clinical cases were addressed and provided with the necessary treatment and care along with two major surgeries that were performed on the equines.
Additionally, as a gesture of support and encouragement, farmers in Barma Kargyam and Shachukul were provided with portable toilets, yak shearing machines (equipped with batteries, inverters, and solar panels), and nomadic kits which included milk churning machines, tent tarpaulin, and solar torch. Free-of-cost first-aid kits were also distributed at each camp.
Villagers from Chibra, Sato Kherapullu, Barma, and others participated in the camps.
The program is part of an ongoing initiative of the mobile veterinary healthcare/outreach program.
