Meteorological Centre Srinagar organises training for young girls of team Stringmo from Kargil
Meteorological Centre Srinagar conducted a one-day training program on basic meteorological observation and forecasting for the young girls of team Stringmo from Kargil, Ladakh on June 24.
This initiative aimed to empower and educate the young participants on the fundamentals of meteorology, enhancing their understanding of weather patterns and forecasting techniques.
During the event, senior officials of IMD, Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed and Dr. C.S. Tomar appreciated the enthusiasm and dedication of the young girls, boosting their morale and encouraging their interest in the field of meteorology.
In a display of gratitude and creativity, the girls created a beautiful mural art on the wall of the MET office premises, symbolizing their appreciation and the knowledge they gained.This collaboration marks a significant step towards involving young minds in meteorological sciences and fostering a sense of community and mutual respect between the scientific community and youth particularly the girls in understanding the role of Meteorological services in saving lives of humans and livestock besides Agricultural, Aviation, Tourism and Pilgrimage forecast.
