Mega plantation drive, ‘Project Trees for Life’ to be held in Lardho-Liktse on May 17-18
Review meeting to oversee the progress and preparations ahead of the mega plantation drive scheduled to be held in Lardho-Liktse was chaired by CEC, Tashi Gyalson on May 11.
The mega plantation drive, known as "Project Trees for Life," is being carried out under the guidance of H.E. Khamtak Rinpoche, Jigmet Nawang Namgial. This initiative aims to overcome environmental challenges and promote a greener earth. This mass plantation drive will witness the participation of various esteemed delegates spiritual leaders, and volunteers from different regions of Ladakh and outside Ladakh as well.
The departmental heads provided an update on the developmental progress at the plantation site thus far. Various issues were also discussed, and CEC Gyalson directed all officers to promptly address and resolve these issues. He further instructed them to ensure the provision of all necessary facilities, including health, sanitation, drinking water, security, and electricity, at all the designated plantation sites.
The meeting was attended by Councillor Kungyam Thinles Nurboo; ADC Leh, Sonam Chosjor; SE R&B Leh, Nissar Ahmed; CMO Leh, Dr. Nurzin Angmo; Dy SP (HQ) Ladakh Police Leh, Regzin Sangdup; Xen PDD Leh, Xen REW, AEE I&FC and PHE Division, representatives from RDD, and the committee members of Project Trees for Life. SDM Nyoma, Jigmet Wangchuk, and Xen SSD Nyoma attended the meeting virtually.
