A district-level workshop was held at the Conference Hall of the DC Office in Leh on December 23 to commemorate Good Governance Week. The event was graced by Deputy Commissioner Leh, Santosh Sukhadeve, who attended as the Chief Guest.

During the workshop, Heads of Departments presented their achievements and activities carried out during Good Governance Week. This included updates on various camps organized at the village, block, tehsil, sub-division, and district levels, highlighting services provided to the public and grievances addressed.

In his address, DC Leh emphasized the significance of Good Governance Week and underscored the importance of continuous public service throughout the year. He stressed the need for delivering services directly to the people, eliminating the necessity for them to travel long distances. DC Leh also highlighted the role of online services and announced plans to extend 4G connectivity to every village in the district by next year. Additionally, he urged public servants to remain grounded and humble in their dedication to meeting the needs of the community.

Good Governance Week, initiated by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances, is celebrated nationwide to mark the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
