Last three years achievements of Modi Govt. highlighted in Kargil

To highlight the achievements of the Narendra Modi government during the last three years, Sab Ka Sath Sab Ka Vikas Sammellan was held on June 9 at Auditorium Hall Kargil organised by NHPC Kargil. 

Minister for Cooperatives and Ladakh Affairs Chering Dorje said that Sab Ka Sath Sab Ka Vikas is a slogan with connotations of greater magnitude which enshrines Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for inclusive development of all sections of the society, which has paid rich dividends in the form of the innumerable schemes the government has launched in the last three years.

Minister while describing the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to see a corruption free India, said that the Government at the Center as well as at the State Level where there is NDA Government has not seen even a single scam surfacing over the last three years which in itself is a great achievement of the present dispensation.

Acknowledging the fact that Ladakh Region has not yet been able to be at par with other regions of the country on account of unsatisfactory telecom services affecting the Digital India Campaign, Dorje expressed his commitment to raise the issue of connectivity in the forthcoming meeting of the Telecom Advisory Committee.
He also highlighted the need to start satisfactory air services to Kargil district and inclusion of the district under Prime Ministers Udaan scheme for air connectivity to small towns.

Keeping in view the topographical and demographical difficulties and limitations he called upon the political leadership of both the districts to seek exemptions in GST which is being implemented in the state from July 1, 2017.

While highlighting the steps taken by the NDA Government for Ladakh region  Minister informed the people that development of the region is among the top priorities of the Prime Minister and funds to the tune of ₹ 21,000 crore has been earmarked out of the ₹ 80,000 crore PMDP Schemes for J&K, which includes, ₹ 10,000 crores for construction of strategically important Zojila tunnel, ₹ 4,200 crores for Kargil-Zanskar Highway ₹ 301 and ₹ 5,000 crores for the construction of twin tunnels on Leh-Manali Road, ₹ 230 Crore for tourism promotion in the two Districts among others.

Counting the steps taken by the State Government for the uniform and equitable development of the Ladakh Region, the minister informed that for the first time a step up fund of ₹ 5 crores each has been sanctioned over and above the District Plan Funds of Kargil and Leh. He added that apart from this, ₹ 5 crores each has also been sanctioned to carry out blacktopping of the roads besides ₹ 10 Crores each has been sanctioned to clear the liabilities.

While talking about the pending liabilities of the Centrally Sponsored Schemes Dorje Said that a team from the Central Government will visit both the districts in Ladakh region to assess the status of the liabilities that would be cleared in one go.

Responding to a question regarding digital media in Ladakh in a press conference, the minister expressed the need to deploy response teams in order to minimise the incidences of OFC snapping on Srinagar-Kargil Highway. He said that an overhead OFC is in the pipe line for which he is in continuous touch with the Power Grid Corporation who have agreed to it.

About Kargil-Zanskar National Highway Works from PWD Kargil to Truck Terminal Division Srinagar, the minister said that he has already taken up the matter with the concerned Minister and expressed his concern.

Kacho Ahmad Ali Khan, CEC, LAHDC Kargil, Executive Councillors, Chief Engineers of NHPC, Mohammad Ali, District President, BJP Kargil and District officers were also present on this occasion.
