LAHDC, Leh signs MoU with Vision Himalaya for rural health initiatives
The Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC), Leh, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Vision Himalaya on November 9 at the Hotel Grand Dragon. This partnership aims to enhance healthcare access through health screenings and check-ups in the rural areas of Ladakh.
Ven. Konchok Samstan, founder of Vision Himalaya, shared that the organization offers free medical check-ups to underprivileged patients across Ladakh. He highlighted that a mobile medical unit has been actively visiting rural areas to conduct health screenings. The collaboration with LAHDC, he noted, will help streamline and expand the operations of the mobile medical services in the region.
The Chief Executive Councillor (CEC) appreciated Vision Himalaya’s commitment to healthcare in Ladakh, especially in cancer diagnostics and other critical areas. He also commended the organization for introducing a well-equipped mobile screening bus to support the health department’s efforts in rural outreach.
The MoU signing ceremony was attended by Executive Councillor Tashi Namgyal Yakzee, Tsering Namgyal (LOP), Councilors from various constituencies, and senior officials from LAHDC, CCF, CMO Leh, DYSSO Leh, MS SNM Leh, as well as presidents from Anjuman Moin-ul-Islam, Anjuman Immamia, the Christian Association, LBA Women Wing, and other prominent dignitaries, including representatives from PAGIR, REWA, and Munsel.
